Couple little Creighton tidbits today
- Former Bluejay Kyle Korver is having surgery on his left foot to remove a bone spur. He is expected to recover in time for next season.
- Early odds are out on who will win the NCAA Championship next year. The Jays are 250/1. Southern Illinois is 200/1, and Drake is 125/1. Those were the only Valley teams individually handicapped. The rest of the field not listed is 20/1.
- The rumor that the Jays are scheduled to play Dayton has been confirmed by the Dayton Daily News. It is a two-year series with the first game at the Qwest Center this year. Like the Jays, marquee foes are reluctant to venture into UD Arena. The Flyers have had to embrace neutral-site games to bolster their RPI and enhance their chances to make the NCAA tournament. They are also going to play in the Chicago Invitational Challenge that will include games against Marquette and Auburn. That seems more attractive than the proposed matchups with Fresno St., St. Louis, and Depaul in the Las Vegas Classic that the Jays will be involved in this year. Those teams we have/could get to come and play in home and home series.
